National Conference on ‘Emerging Global Trends in Engineering and Technology’
A two-day national conference on ‘Emerging Global Trends in Engineering and Technology’ begins today, to explore the latest developments in the various branches of engineering and technology.
The conference “is an ideal platform for industry professionals, researchers, engineers and academicians from all over the country to share views and present their findings and have intellectual deliberations on emerging trends in engineering and technology, ” says Convener Dr Sunandan Baruah.
He adds, “As in the past four years, the conference focuses on initiatives that promote research and developmental activities in the disciplines of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Basic Sciences.”
Besides 130 registered participants from IITs and NITs from around the country, some 50 special invitees are participating in the conference opened by university Vice Chancellor Dr Stephen Mavely.
Prof. Narayan Sharma, Water Resources Development and Management Department, IIT Roorkee delivered the keynote address.
The chief guest for the inaugural session was Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Principal Secretary, Planning and Development, Government of Assam. He launched the first e-publication of the university’s School of Technology “ADBU Journal of Engineering Technology (AJET).”
Prof. Nirmal Kumar Choudhury, former vice chancellor of Gauhati University was a guest of honor.
The conference will feature 15 sessions in total with 15 guest speakers who will chair the sessions in four parallel track events.
Papers are divided into the following topics: Digital Processing, Nano Technology, Networking, Electronics, Electrical, and Communication / Image Processing.
